Fleming Bird Conservation Committee

In an ongoing effort to promote advocacy and initiative on an international landscape, strengthening the preservation of North American bird populations via campus survey's, window mitigation, interactive workshops, and acclaimed events, the Frost Student Association is pleased to collaborate with the Fleming Bird Conservation Committee (FBCC). Composed of students, faculty, and college representatives, with the support of the Kawartha Lakes and surrounding community, and in alignment with the ethos of Fleming College, the FBCC readily strives to accomplish its objectives in maintaining Frost Campus as a bird-friendly haven, the first college in Ontario to be accredited with the designation.

Frost Sustainability Committee

A product of the Frost Student Association, the Sustainability Committee ambitiously fosters environmental stewardship and community engagement among students and faculty, offering a diverse range of on and off campus initiatives and activities from which students can earn co-curricular credits, those that include volunteering with the pollinator garden, food bank, free market, aviary, greenhouse, and arboretum, as well as with one of our many community partners. In addition, the Committee hosts a multitude of engaging workshops (garden how-to, upcycling, foraging etc.) and campus events, the most notable and anticipated of which is Eco-Fest, an annual celebration promoting biodiversity and environmentalism.
