Ancillary Fee

What is an ancillary fee?

If you are a full-time student at Fleming College Frost campus, a portion of your tuition is for ancillary fees. These fees cover a variety of non-academic services and activities that support student life and enhance the educational experience.

Frost Campus

FSA Operations Fee

Amount per semester: $64.42

Supports the operation and maintenance of the Frost Student Association Offices. Including all fees associated with office administration, operations, bookkeeping and payroll.

Student Association (SA) Frost Auk’s Lodge Operations Fee

Amount per semester: $48.92

Supports the operation and maintenance of the Frost Student Association Student Centre. The student centre is a common meeting place for both academic and social endeavors and is available to all Frost campus students.  Included are all costs associated with administration, operations, bookkeeping and payroll for the building.

SA Frost Student Governance Fee

Amount per semester: $30.87

Supports the FSA Board of Directors that is comprised of student leaders who provide information and services to students and additionally act as liaison between students and college administration. Services include the good food box, emergency food cupboard, health plan, clubs, and program presidents and more.

SA Frost Auk’s Lodge Pub Fee

Amount per semester: $14.05

Supports the operational costs of the Auk’s Lodge Pub and student bartender wages. This fee directly relates to student employment opportunities and hours of operation.

SA Frost Student Experience Activity Fee

Amount per semester: $20.86

Supports the FSA in facilitating student activities. The activities may vary depending on student interest. Activities include guest speakers, complimentary lunches, workshops, athletic activities and social events. Student suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

SA Frost Academic Support Fee

Amount per semester: $6.31

Supports the costs associated with student advocacy and academic appeals processes provided by the FSA President and Vice-President throughout the academic year.

SA Frost Mental Health Fee

Amount per semester: $14.48

Additional support for mental health awareness events and support staff. This fee was voted in in a student referendum in 2017. This fee has contributed to the elimination of student waitlists for mental health counselling.

SA Frost Transition Fee

Amount per semester: $2.70

Provides funding towards initiatives taking place throughout the first two weeks of each semester. These initiatives may vary from welcome packages to events and activities based on available funding each semester.

Ontario Student Voices Fee

Amount per semester: $7.40

Enables the Frost Student Association along with its Haliburton campus to join the Ontario Student Voices as members. This membership allows the FSA greater access to resources including advocacy at a school and provincial level, resources for leadership building and much more.

SA Frost Athletics Fee

Amount per semester: $68.51

Provides funding for recreational, intramural and varsity programming at the Frost Campus.

SA Frost Recreation Building Fee (Fieldhouse)

Amount per semester: $16.22

Provides funding for the maintenance of the Fieldhouse as well as the purchase of new equipment.

Frost Fitness Facility Fee (Lindsay Recreational Centre)

Amount per semester: $69.66

Provides students with access to a local fitness centre. Refer to the Frost Student Association website for more information.

Domestic Students Health Plan Fee

Provides students with health insurance while in college. Students may opt out of this fee with proof of alternative coverage.

International Students Health Plan Fee

Amount per semester: $904.06 in fall semester, $844.10 in winter semester, and $698.48 in summer semester.

Provides international students with health insurance while in college. International students cannot opt out of this fee.

Haliburton Campus

SA Haliburton Student Academic Fee

Amount per semester: $5.71

Supports the FSA President and Vice-President in assisting students with academic appeals, providing academic support and health plan information throughout the academic year.

SA Haliburton Student Experience Fee

Amount per semester: $19.91

Supports the funding of student activities throughout the academic year. Activities include guest speakers, complimentary lunches, workshops and/or social events. Student suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
